In cases where people haven't been able to connect with our video calling before, we often find it is related to a company firewall blocking us. So, we know for example that some companies aren't able to use video calling platforms like Zoom, if they aren't approved for internal use. Essentially, the same thing is happening with PushFar. We use WebRTC which is an open source real-time video calling technology, which the majority of webinar platforms also use. WebRTC transmits audio and video between mobile apps and web browsers, if it is disabled through your web browser, the browser will not be able to transmit the audio and video from you - meaning you the webinar/video conference would not work. Normally this is enabled by default, however there may be occasions where admin or web browser extensions have prohibited or blocked the technology from working.
In order to enable a successful connection and video calling to work, a network or IT team would need to ensure that PushFar.com isn't blocked as a URL and that the Google STUN network is available. For external connections, we use stun.l.google.com port 19302.
There are some trouble shooting options to try however, which can also be blocking the video calling feature, and once resolved this should work for you.
- Using Chrome - Chrome is the best web browser to be using for the PushFar video calling if possible! -
Check if there are any plugins installed in Chrome that are blocking WebRTC. Some examples could be WebRTC Leak Prevent, WebRTC Control, Easy WebRTC Block, WebRTC Network Limiter and more. To do so, in the menu, select More Tools, and then proceed to the Extensions tab. In the list of extensions, locate the ones mentioned above. Deactivate them for the period of the webinar or uninstall them completely in case you no longer need them.
- Allowing PushFar video calling permission to access webcam/microphone - this can be done through your PC settings
- Closing all other video calling applications that are open at the same time - another video platform being open can sometimes cause interference

If you both know that there is a video calling platform that you can both use, such as Teams or Zoom, then you can still schedule meetings through the platform, just selecting that as a meeting type, keeping a log of all the meeting notes and then host the actual meetings on an external platform.
