Mentor/Mentee FAQ - The Mentor or Mentee I Want to Request Is at Full Capacity

If you're seeing a message such as "Full Capacity" or "Capacity Reached" when trying to connect with a mentor or mentee, it means that no additional mentoring relationships can currently be created for that person.

 What Does "Full Capacity" Mean?

PushFar allows mentors and mentees to set limits on the number of active mentoring relationships they can manage. This helps ensure participants have enough time to dedicate to each mentoring relationship.

When a user reaches their maximum capacity, new mentoring requests cannot be sent until capacity becomes available.

If the Message Appears on Someone's Profile

This means the mentor or mentee has reached the maximum number of mentoring relationships permitted by their current mentoring preferences.

You will need to consider requesting a different mentor or mentee, or check again later to see if capacity becomes available.

If the Message Appears When Sending a Request

There are several reasons why a request may not be possible:

  • You have already sent a request that is awaiting a response.
  • The other user has reached their mentoring capacity.
  • The other user has a pending request that must be resolved before new requests can be accepted.
  • Your own mentor or mentee capacity has been reached.

How Do I Check My Capacity Settings?

  1. From your homepage, click Preferences.
  2. Review your mentoring preferences and capacity settings.
  3. Update your limits if your programme allows this.

Please note: Mentor and mentee capacity limits may be configured by your organisation and may not always be editable by individual participants.

How Do I Check for Pending Requests?

If you're unable to send a request, it is worth checking whether you already have requests awaiting action.

You can do this by:

  • Reviewing the Requests section on your homepage.
  • Checking your Notifications for outstanding mentoring requests.

Why Does PushFar Use Capacity Limits?

Capacity limits help ensure that mentors and mentees can dedicate sufficient time and support to each relationship, creating a better experience for everyone participating in the programme.
