Branding - Email Branding and Image Guidelines
PushFar allows organisations to customise certain elements of their automated emails using branding settings. This article explains which images can be customised, recommended image sizes, and common formatting considerations.
Overview
Most automated PushFar emails use a standard template consisting of:
- A branded header containing your logo
- An email body containing the message content
- An optional hero/banner image (available on certain emails)
- A standard PushFar footer containing copyright and unsubscribe information
Please note that not all email types use the same template structure.
Header Logo
Your organisation's logo appears at the top of supported automated emails.
Recommended Logo Size
For the best appearance, we recommend using:
-
- Height: 28px
- Width: 150–200px (approximately)
- Format: JPEG, PNG or GIF
- Maximum file size: 2MB
Logo Design Tips
Because logos are displayed at a relatively small height, we recommend:
✅ Using a clean, horizontal logo
✅ Ensuring text remains readable at smaller sizes
✅ Avoiding overly detailed artwork or small text
PushFar automatically optimises uploaded logos to ensure they display correctly across emails.
Hero (Banner) Images
Some automated emails support an optional hero image displayed beneath the header.
Examples include:
- Welcome emails
- Add Employee emails
- Incomplete Profile reminder emails
Recommended Hero Image Size
For best results, use:
-
- 640 × 300px
- Aspect ratio: 2:1
- High-resolution option: 1280 × 600px
- Formats: JPEG, PNG or GIF
- Maximum file size: 10MB
Important
Images with unusual dimensions may appear cropped or stretched in some email clients. For the most consistent display, we recommend matching the suggested dimensions above.
Footer Images
Footer graphics or images are not currently supported within PushFar's automated email templates.
All automated emails include a standard text footer containing:
- Copyright information
- Unsubscribe links
- Required email compliance information
This section cannot be customised with additional images.
Other Email Types
Some communications use different layouts from standard automated emails.
Send Email to Employees
Bulk emails sent using Send Email to Employees use a simple email template containing only the content you create in the editor.
These emails do not include:
- A branded PushFar header
- A logo area
- The standard automated email layout
Scheduled Emails
Custom scheduled emails include:
✅ Your branded header
✅ Standard footer information
✅ Support for custom HTML content within the email body
This provides greater flexibility when creating marketing or programme communications.
Common Formatting Questions
Email clients do not always display content consistently. If your emails appear different across devices or platforms, the following may help explain why.
Fonts Look DifferentPushFar emails are designed using modern web fonts. However, some email clients—particularly Microsoft Outlook—may replace these with alternative fonts such as Arial or Helvetica.
This behaviour is controlled by the recipient's email client and cannot be overridden by PushFar.
Formatting Changes After Copying Content
If content is copied from:
- Microsoft Word
- External websites
- HTML editors
additional formatting may be carried into the email.
This can sometimes cause:
- Unexpected font changes
- Inconsistent spacing
- Different text sizes
For the best results, consider pasting content as plain text before applying formatting within PushFar.
Missing Default Banner Images
Some automated emails contain default PushFar imagery.
When you apply custom branding, such as:
- A custom logo
- Custom brand colours
certain default imagery may no longer be shown.
This is expected behaviour and helps ensure emails reflect your organisation's branding.
Matching Rule Emails
Emails generated from mentoring matching rules use the standard branded email layout.
These emails include:
✅ Your branded logo
✅ Editable email content
✅ Standard footer information
Hero/banner images are not available for matching-rule communications.
